When I first rocked up at Ladurée, I was surprised at how many people are actually lining up. We were in the queue for about 15-20mins, the queue was long mainly females. I guess females are the ones with the sweet tooth lol.
They have these cute little candle sets available for purchase, a little on the pricey side but so cute. The lighting at Ladurée wasn't great so I ended up taking a million photos of everything and I had to select the better photos to stick on this blog.
I got myself 5 yummy macarons - almond marshmallow, raspberry, pistachio, strawberry marshmellow and the salted caramel. The macarons are priced at $3.20 each, a little expensive compared to others but still quite reasonable. All the good stuff is always in Sydney, why doesn't Melbourne ever get anything good? Next time, I head to Sydney I will treat myself to more macarons! These are delicious little gems.
Are you a macaron lover like meee?

Waa!! I didn't even get to see or meet you at IMATS :( Boo!
ReplyDeleteI know huh! =( Hopefully I'll be back next year!
DeleteMUST. GO. TO. SYDNEY!!!

Gogogo! The patisserie is so cute and the girls that work there are so friendly.
DeleteAs if zumbo's macarons aren't enough... sydney gets laduree?! ;)
ReplyDeleteI know Sophie, tell me about it. Sydney always gets the goodies.
DeleteAHH. I WANT TO GO TO SYDNEY NOW :(
ReplyDeleteI loveee macarons and would probably buy out that whole store if I had the money hoho! Did you try any of Zumbos? That's something I def wanna do ...one day hah!
I tried Zumbos too!! OMG i loved them as well lol I was going to go get some macarons from them too but felt too guilty from all the calories.
DeleteLove Ladurée <3

Hey Nora, me too!
DeleteMelbourne has Lindt, they're quite nice and around the same price at $3 each.
ReplyDeleteThough sometimes on weekdays they have buy 2 get 1 free.
Yes they do but the feeling is different when you go to Lindt, maybe coz there are so many around in melbourne it doesn't feel special anymore.
DeleteYumm, they look so pretty. There are definitely places to get good macarons in Melbourne! Try La Belle Miette in the CBD or Cacao in GPO corner Bourke St and Elizabeth street :)
ReplyDeleteHey Karen, ooh! I never heard of La Belle Miette, it sounds fancy. I will check them out. Isn't cacao the frozen yogurt place? or did I get it confused?
DeleteWe honeymooned in Paris and stopped at Laduree. I wish I would have taken photos inside. It's so cute!
ReplyDeleteHey Arielle, such a romantic place for your honeymoon! I saw some of your beautiful photos!
Deleteoh the candles are gorgeous. i second La Belle Miette, so delicious. Its a tiney tiny store on hardware lane.
ReplyDeleteSometimes when stuff is close to you, you never take notice! thanks for the recommendation will definitely want to try La Belle Miette, are they open on the weekends? It's hard popping by when I dont work in the CBD.
Deleteyes doll they are, we should swing by on sunday after meet up!
DeleteWhat do you mean melbourne doesn't get the good stuff?
ReplyDeleteSincerely, Adelaide. Haha!
The macaroons look delicious btw, I really want to try laudaree!
LOL oh yes that's true. We always want what we don't have!! I've never been to Adelaide before, is there any good sight seeing stuff to do?
DeleteOh... Laduree...and Zumbo in your previous visit, you're certainly doing the pastry rounds every time you visit *wink*
ReplyDeleteOMG one day I would love to go to Laduree.. I love macarons so much!! So pretty. :)

DeleteNice. Hopefully Zumbo or Laduree decide to open in Melbourne at some point.
ReplyDeleteAt least we got Zara and Topshop first haha
lol that's true but then I've never purchased anything from topshop before. Stuff is too short for the conservative me lol
DeleteHaha You are so cute! Mmm, they look tasty.
ReplyDeleteI have never quite jumped on board the macaron train. They're yummy, but I'm just not sure about all the hype. There's a couple of places near me that have GIANT macarons for $2.80 though and they're not bad.
Giant you say? The only giant macaron I had was at Zumbos.
DeleteI'm most definitely a maccaron lover but so hard to find them over here ! :( They look really yummy +_+
ReplyDeleteOh where are you located Queenie?

Hey Kimmie, nope its not available here =(
DeleteSad we couldn't catch up. Laduree was much too busy so we didn't wait. Looks yummy though.
ReplyDeleteI know huh, it's ok there will be a next time. Shame IMATS seem kinda small.
DeleteYum! I wish I wish I was in Sydney (or better yet Paris). Still, Melbourne has Burch & Purchese, La Belle Miette and Lux Bite. I wouldn't swap those for Laduree, though if Zumbo ever decides to make his way down here I'd be beyond thrilled.
ReplyDeleteOH yeh I had B&P cakes, they are good but too fancy for me lol
Deleteso envious that ladurée opened in sydney! i hope they can bring one to melbourne soon!

ReplyDeleteI'm so tempted to try these Laduree Macaroons. I think there's a branch out in NYC. Hopefully I get a chance to hop over and check it out myself.
ReplyDeleteOMG, Those cakes!!!!! I think they sell those Selfridges in London, I can't wait to get my hands on them.
