Sparkly Glitter Polish

I was first introduced to these Ulta3 Glitter polishes at Ling's from Pork Chop's Nest Christmas BBQ last weekend. I've never been a fan of sparkly stuff but just recently I've been drawn to anything that reflects light. I tweeted Vita from Make Up 4 My Age to see where I can get these glittery goodness from.

When I got there, they were sold out on Over The Rainbow so I ended up getting 5 out of the 6 in the collection. So now I'm on the hunt for Over The Rainbow, if you see it please let me know or you can just buy it for me =)
From left to right: New Years Eve, Twinkle Toes, Disco Fever, Pot of Gold and Luck of the Irish.
I haven't tried these polishes yet. I'm planning on wearing them for Christmas. I need to pick up a green base polish and use Luck of the Irish as a top coat. For $2 a bottle, you can't go wrong with these polishes.

I picked up these polishes from Sportsgirl a few weeks a go. They were on sale for $3.45 each (RRP $7.95). I've tried Super Nova as a top coat and it's pretty good. It started to chip after 4 days.
Left to Right: Glacier, 100's & 1000's and Super Nova

I've been spending too much lately. I can't wait to share my BeautyBay purchases in a few weeks time. They had 20% off and free shipping for Black Friday - no way I could have resisted.

What have you purchased recently? Did you take advantage of the Black Friday sales?

YAY the weekend is almost here! As always thanks for reading!

Things I'm thankful for

Happy Thanksgiving!!!! I've been reading lots of blogs from the US the last few days. Been loving their thankful posts so much that I thought I should write my own! These days, it's so easy to lose track of what's really important, we often tend to be grateful when something is gone or lost. Once in while it's good to take a break and think about what really matters to you.

I'm thankful for:
  • My health
  • Awesome hubs
  • My loving family
  • Great friends
  • Having a job - Even though I'm constantly complaining, I'm glad I have a job. It gets me out of the house and doing something I never thought I could.
  • Food and water - The two necessities of life!
  • Exercise
  • A roof under our heads

Here are some of the sillier stuff:
  • The internet! - The hubs and I were just talking the other day, how we would survive if we had no internet? Our lives revolves around the internet, pretty crazy right?
  • Living so close to the train station - Living just 5 mins away from the train station, I no longer need to rush to work!
  • My lovely followers and anyone who takes their time to read my blog
  • Frozen yoghurt - I love this stuff!

Well that's my list! It's a short post, I know I should have expanded on my points but I finished work late (9.30pm to be exact) and I've got the biggest headache in the world. But I wanted to get this post out tonight. I'm sorry if you wanted to read more!

What are you thankful for?

Review: Make Up For Ever HD Foundation

Happy Saturday!! I purchased the Make Up For Ever HD Foundation (#120 Soft Sand) at IMATS this year for $42 (if i remember correctly). I decided to buy this foundation because I've read and watched so many raves about this product. I think it set my expectation so high that when I finally tried it, I felt a tad disappointed.

According to MUFE "The HD Foundation is an oil-free medium-to-full coverage liquid foundation which covers skin imperfections, while remaining invisible on-screen and in real life. Its extremely fine texture is supple and easy to apply. Enriched with moisturizing agents, it leaves the skin soft and radiant. It is available in a wide range of shades to suit all skin tones".
Additional info:
  • Made in France
  • RRP $59AUD
  • Available in a variety of shades
  • Medium coverage

What I like:
  • It covers without clogging pores
  • Lasts up to 7hrs on me
  • Feels quite comfortable and light on the skin
  • Photographs well
  • Great packaging with the pump - releases just enough product

What I dislike:
I found this foundation hard to blend into the skin and really accentuates drier areas of your face. I tried to apply this foundation with a brush as well as my fingers but I found that none of it really worked for me. It looked really dull on my skin and didn't at all improve the appearance of my skin texture. Initially the first 2-3 weeks of using it, I felt like the foundation kept sticking around the dry patches. One day (being last week lol), I decided to exfoliate my face with my usual mask the Clinique turnaround facial just before applying the foundation, just to see if it made a difference. Let me tell you this, it made a HUGE difference by exfoliating and slapping on a bunch of my Shiseido day time moisteriser!! The foundation went on so much smoother and it didn't emphasize any dry patches. So if you have dry skin either exfoliate or use a lot of moisturiser or do both.

Overall: To be honest, I think it's a pain having to exfoliate every time right before I use the foundation to get the best results of out this foundation. I probably will not be buying this again unless my skin condition miraculously improves. I haven't tried this product with a beauty blender but I have read that it works pretty well with it. This product will suit someone with combination to oily skin. I guess it's one of those things, you either love it or hate it.

Have you tried MUFE HD Foundation? Love it? Hate it?

Review: Loreal Elvive Extraordinary Oil + Giveaway winner

Happy Tuesday!! I'm turning into a real slacker when it comes to blogging. I been sitting at home every night thinking I should be blogging but then I'll end up doing something else. This has been happening all week! Anywayyyy.. a few months a go, I went to check out Chemist Warehouse, wanted to see if they got any good bargains. Just so happens that Loreal Elvive Extraordinary Oil was on sale so I picked up a bottle. I can't remember how much I got it for but it was definitely a few bucks cheaper than the rrp.
Application: You can either use it before washing your hair to help nourish or before styling for protection. I usually use 2 pumps on my hands, rub them together and put it all over my hair.

Additional info:
  • Made in Israel
  • RRP $19.95 (100ml)
  • Availability: Large supermarkets and other retailers

What it feels like: A light clear oil

What I like:
  • Product doesn't weigh down my hair
  • Doesn't leave hair greasy like other oils
  • Adds definition to wavy hair
  • You can use the product any way you like
  • Leaves hair glossy
  • The scent of the oil is a little plan but it didn't bother me
  • Great packaging with the pump

Overall: This is my first hair oil I've used so I wouldn't have much to compare it to. I would like to try moroccan oil one day but every time I see the price tag, it puts me off. As you can see, I don't really spend much money hair products. I been using this oil after I blow dry my hair and I love the gloss it gives. You might think that because it's an oil it will cause your hair to get oily quicker but it's so not true with this product. I'm still washing my hair like every 3-4 days (gross? yes I'm lazy lol). Great product, try try try!!

Thank you to everyone who entered my Blogiversary Giveaway. The winner is yozellyn. I will be sending you an email shortly. Please respond within 2 days or a new winner will be chosen.

Thanks for reading!!!

Review: Clean & Clear In-Shower Facial

Happy Sunday!!! I haven't been able to blog lately because my internet has been capped for the last week. You really can't do much when the internet is capped, it's like the good old dial up days. It took me forever just to load the photos for this post. The last few weeks, I have been trialing Clean & Clear Deep Action In-Shower Facial*. As you probably would have guessed it, this nifty facial is done in the shower!

What it claims "in three ways for skin that feels refreshed, revived and completely clean. Detoxifies deep with a purifying formula made with natural fruit acids that work with the shower's steam to deeply cleanse the pores. Exfoliating beads sweep away dead surface skin, while natural skin conditioners leave skin soft and smooth."
Application: In the shower, squeeze a small amount onto the palm of your hand. Apply it to your face avoiding the eye area. Wait one minute then gently scrub and rinse off with warm water.

Additional info:
  • Made in Thailand
  • RRP around $10 (150g)
  • Availability: Large supermarkets and other retailers
  • This product contains Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA) which may increase skin sensitivity so best to use sun screen before stepping out of the house
  • Product works best in the shower from the heat and steam
  • Use 2-3 times a week

What it feels like: A thick white/greenish gritty scrub

What I like:
  • Refreshing scent
  • Good packaging and very easy to use in shower with a flip top lid
  • Tingling cooling sensation as it's working
  • Skin feels rejuvenated and smooth after you rinse off
  • Does not irritate my skin or cause breakouts
  • Skin felt smooth and clear and not dried out
  • Great for all ages (not just for teenagers)

Overall: This facial mask is good for dry to oily skin. However, if you have super sensitive or sun burnt skin, I wouldn't recommend this as it may be too rough on your skin. I have incorporated this product into my shower routine. I use it especially after the gym when my face is clogged up. This product is great if you are time poor and want results. Definitely give this facial a go if you are looking for cleaner and more refreshed skin.

Thanks for reading!!!
