Review: Lush The Sacred Truth Fresh Face Mask

Whoa man it's Wednesday!! That means exam tomorrow!!!!! I haven't had time to prepare a post this week so this is a something I prepared a month a go (reminds me of those cooking shows and here's what we prepared earlier lol).
................................................................................................
The other day I was in the city, I walked past the Swanston St Lush store. I thought to myself that I haven't bought any Lush face mask in a while so I picked up The Sacred Truth Fresh Face Mask. The lady at Lush said this was the best seller of the day so I gave it a go.

According to Lush "The truth is, we all need protection from ageing. The vital antioxidant action of wheatgrass, ginseng and green tea combines with fresh papaya, cleansing clays and nutritious butters to defend the skin. This mask delivers live, fresh, active ingredients, which enhance and refresh the complexion. Apply to clean skin, avoiding the eye area. Leave for five to ten minutes, and then rinse away with warm water. Keep chilled."
Application: Apply a thick layer on a clean face avoiding the eye area. Leave for 10 mins then rinse off with water.

Additional info:
  • Made in Australia
  • RRP $15.95 75g
  • Not tested on animals

What it feels like: A smooth thick texture. From the photos it reminds me of black sesame ice cream.

What I like:
  • Does not irritate my skin
  • Leaves skin feeling soft

What I dislike:
  • My face felt oily the following morning
  • Not a fan of the scent of this face mask, smell lingers for a while
  • A little harder to wash off, I had to use a wash cloth to get most of it off

Overall: This face mask isn't for me but everyone's preference and skin type is different. Personally I wouldn't buy again. My all time favourite Lush face masks is still Love lettuce and BB seaweed, they are so awesome my face felt so smooth and clean.

Review: LUSH Love Lettuce Fresh Face Mask

Happy Thursday!!!! I am back to using LUSH Love Lettuce Fresh Face Mask! Smarter too when picking the fresh mask, I open to see what the consistency is like before I buy it. Sometimes they look kinda runny, this one was pretty good.

Lush website "An effective, exfoliating face mask which gives normal to oily skin a softened, smoothed and radiant glow. Polishing almond shell is balanced by the softening qualities of almond oil and seaweed gel. With soothing lavender essential oil and the cleansing, tightening action of Fullers’ Earth, you’ll feel fresh in no time".
Sorry photos are a little blurry, took these a few months ago lol

Application: I apply it the same way as other masks - use a clean utensil (I use my hands), apply it all over face except eye area then leave it for around 10mins, wash off the mask using circular motion with your hands.

Additional info:
  • Made in Australia
  • RRP $15.95 75g
  • Not tested on animals

What I like:

  • Does not irritate my skin
  • Leaves skin feeling really soft and smooth
  • Lovely scent
  • Does a really good job at exfoliating
  • I feel like it helps minimise my pores, could be just me though
  • Fresh and natural ingredients

What I dislike:
  • I guess the 2-3 week expiry

Overall: I find that my face is still really smooth even after 2-3days. I wouldn't use this more than twice a week though, the exfoliating parts in it seems quite powerful. So far this and BB seaweed are my favourite mask from Lush.

Almost weekend again!! wooo!

LUSH BB Seaweed Fresh Face Mask

Last Friday, I stopped by Lush to check out if they got any fresh mask in stock, managed to pick up BB Seaweed. Usually, I get Love Lettuce but noticed their consistency gets a little too thick for me and I can't get it to stick to my face!

According to the Lush website BB Seaweed Fresh Mask is "Relaxing and reviving, mineral-rich mask to cleanse, soften and beautify all skins. This blend, inspired by the sea, contains fresh and nutritious seaweed and seaweed absolute. Cleansing kaolin, antiseptic honey, calming aloe vera and rose absolute make this a great mask for everyone."

Lush masks are super easy to apply. What you can do is use a clean utensil (spoon or whatever but I used my hands coz I'm lazy lol), apply it all over face except eye area then leave it for around 10mins, wash off the mask using circular motion with your hands. They have an expiry date of 2 weeks. I usually try to buy it around the time they were made so I can use it for longer. Don't forget to keep it in the fridge otherwise you'll end up with a tub of mold lol

RRP $15.95/75g - It's pretty good for this price, usually I can use it for 4 times - roughly about $3.99 each time!

Overall: I do like this masks, cleanses and detoxifies - leaves skin feeling fresh and soft!

I'm always open to trying other products, what face mask do you use?
