Happy Boxing day??

5 Reasons to avoid Boxing Day - It's weird, you would assume that Boxing day being the day after Christmas everyone would be in a pretty good mood...WRONG. I think Boxing day brings out the worse in people.

Here are some reasons why I'm turning anti-boxing day:
  • The Carpark - people yelling and cursing at each other over who took whos carpark.
  • Inside the shopping centre - people are pushing and shoving like it's the end of the world. The stuff isn't even that cheap I don't see the need to push people out of the way.
  • There are not enough sales to go around for everyone - some people will just hog up everything.
  • When you do manage to find something in the messy piles, the line to pay is like 10x longer than the time it took you to decide on it.
  • Notice how it encourges a lot of impulse buys?

    Christmas Eve & Sangria time!

Merry Christmas everyone!!! I know i'm a day late and HAPPY BOXING DAY LADIES! Going to head out to Chaddy soon.

My family likes to celebrate Christmas on the Eve, as usual we had too much to eat. I saw on taste they had a Sangria recipe so we decided to make it... boy was it strong lol after two glasses I was feeling really tipsy. The recipe makes about two jugs, so we had to finish that! It tasted really yummy.. a lot better than what's in restaurants. If you don't have the drinks/ingredients at home it is a little expensive. I got Cointreau in Safeway for $40 & two bottles of sparkling Shiraz for $20 plus caster sugar and fruits so all up it would cost you $65.

Dinner was a mix of food - we had pasta, spring rolls, fried chicken and chicken/beef skewers lol My mum also bought a Christmas log cake thingy but no one in my family really likes cake so it was all up to me to eat it. If the cake was not enough we also had an apple pie to finish!!

My sister got me matryoshkas measuring cups, they are heaps cute. I've seen them around but never thought I needed them but bonus that my sis got it for me. I normally like to guesstimate when cooking never used any measuring cups probably explains why no one wants to eat my food lol

Secret Santa & Amazing Race - Team building exercise

Yesterday at work we had our team day as well as our secret santa! Our team activity was the amazing race. We had to run around Melbourne trying to find clues to get to our final destination.. man it was exhausting, all this running around just proves how unfit I am. I was sweating like a maniac!! We were doing it for 2hrs and I felt like giving up, i dunno how those guys on tv do it lol

One of the extra point activities we did was to find a place on Bourke St and sing Jingle Bells and try to get 5 randoms to sing along as well.. lol We were lucky, we approach 5 kids who were willing to sing along and we also had to get a stranger to film it for proof. This one was tough as I am not the type of person who likes public speaking and here I am singing in public!! On a positive note, our team came second out of 10 teams!!

When we got to our final destination (on Southbank) and we did our secret santa! The present I received was a moisteriser & hand wash set, must admit I am lucky with KK. Most of the time I seem to receive pretty good presents. This set is really handy to have around in the bathroom and will be definitely used. Big thank you to you my lovely secret santa!

    December purchases

Went to Chaddy the other night and picked up this dress from pilgrim. They had a further 30% off already reduce stock, worked out costing around $98 - not exactly a bargain but needed a dress for a wedding coming up.

Also stopped by Moche on Saturday and picked up this funky ring - looks like a safety pin wrapped around your finger.

    Thailand: Koh Samui

Hey guys!! I am back from Thailand! Had the most amazing trip ever! We boarded the plane on Tuesday and landed around 5ish in Bangkok and then caught a connecting flight to Koh Samui. When we arrived at the Koh Samui airport, it was pouring down with rain. The customs at this airport are the most relaxed place ever here, they have two signs: one to declare goods and the other nothing to declare, it's your choice if you want to declare or not lol

The resort we stayed at was called Amari Reef Hotel. This place has the best customer service, as soon as we walked in they greeted us and led us to a place to sit down where we can check in. They provided us some tea and refresher towels. One thing I do find weird is that when checking into hotels in Thailand they like to photocopy your passports. When we got to our room, all we wanted to do was take a nap. After our nap we went to get a massage and facial at breeze spa located in our hotel. It was a little expensive but well worth it, soooo relaxing.

The breakfast here was amazing! This hotel has the best breakfast.. anything you can imagine they had it. Every morning I would end up eating 2 plates of food. You can get them to make you omelets or fried eggs. They even had a juice machine to make your own juice. They had not just one type of sausages but 3!!

We joined a tour to ride elephants and see tigers. Our tour ride was on a tuk tuk lol I was freakking out, we had no seat belts and was sitting at the back of the car. Elephant riding was pretty scary too, I held on real tight and didn't let go on the seat. The seat was just tied using ropes to the elephant and looked really flimsy. There was also a waterfall at this place where some ppl went for a swim, the water looked kinda dirty so I didn't go in.

Then we went onto a place where you get feed baby tigers and leopard. I took a pic with the tiger and B took photos with the leopard which got kinda nasty.

Check this gross looking pic out lol We went to a place that has Garra rufa fishes. They are suppose to exfoliate the skin, these tiny little fishes feed off the dead skins and leaving the healthy ones to grow. The feeling of when you first dip your feet into the water is so weird. Let me tell you, i'm not a ticklish person and these fishes were really tickling my feet badly lol
This hut looking thing was where we got our first beach side massage. It look like a dirty place but hey its the experience that counts. I went for the thai message coz i didn't want to strip down in public lol This is one of the most weirdest massage I got. She was massaging my bum, next thing you know she put her fist near on my bum and pushed it.. kinda like fisting my ass lol

Our hotel had one of the best Italian restaurant we have ever been to. This place was called Pregos, we went here to eat 3 nights.. it's just that good. The pizza base was the best.. who would have thought Thailand would have such tasty pizza. I forgot to take a pic of this place even though we were here so many times lol On most days, we would be walking along the beach or swimming by the pools. Here are some pics I took of our hotel and beach.

Everyday we went out for a massage. On the day we left, we went for a full on pamper session. B and I went for an 1hr facial, I went for a foot scrub and then a 1 hr foot and hand massage. It was awesome, we both we sad that we were leaving lol I would definitely come back to this place.

    Thanks for reading!!

Puffing Billy & Yarra Valley Wineries!!

Visited Puffing Billy and Yarra Valley Wineries today, it was a very intense day lol We had to meet up at fed sq at 7.45am to join the tour group. Our first stop was at some park (can't remember the name of it), you can buy bird seeds and feed cockatoos there. Not very exciting but at least we got morning tea, where I had two lamingtons. If you don't know what lamingtons are then you are missing out! It's a cake with jam in the middle coated with chocolate and coconuts on the outside. Next stop was puffing billy, it was filled with very excited parents and kids. We got off at menzies station where our bus driver picked us up and picked up an additional 12 newbies to our tour group (not exactly the best mix of ppl)

We then went to Fergusson Winery for lunch. Lunch was roast with vegies. The meal was average, probably because I had such high expectations for it. After lunch, was the wine tasting. Only managed to try 2 types wine at this place. Their moscato was quite yummy! Second winery we went to was Dominque something lol really bad with names as you can see.

Last stop was at Rochford - I do really like this place. Tried around 6 types of wine here, their fortified wine was really nice (only coz I like sweet wine) After the tasting, we all went for some dessert. They had a lot of macarons, cakes and fudges. Last time I came here, I got fudge so I didn't get it this time. This time I got a carrot cake with a green tea. It was very yummy, was perfect with the cream.

The newbies that joined our tour ended up drinking so much they were really annoying on the way home. They kept talking really loud and said some things they shouldn't be talking about in public. One of the guys came down to speak to the driver and told him they wanted to be let off. The bus driver agreed and dropped them off and everyone on the bus was clapping coz they left. When they were outside the bus, one of the girls decided to flash herself at everyone!! Who does that??? It's not like they were even young, they look like they were in their early to mid twenties.
