Evening gown!?!

Happy Tuesday!!! If anyone has ever been to a chinese/asian wedding, you'll know that the bride usually changes 50million times with different outfits. I'm chinese so my family expects it.. Initially, I was going to wear my wedding dress.. since it's quite expensive and it's only worn once why not just wear it for the whole day!?! This idea did not sit well with my mum! So we negotiated down to changing once!

Has anyone seen a chinese dress/Cheongsam/Qipao before? Here's a pic!

It took us a good month to find a dress maker who could make this in Melbourne. During our first consultation with the dress maker, I told her what style I wanted. She recommended a bunch of places for the fabric. We went most of the places she recommended but couldn't find the traditional chinese silk fabric and if the fabric store did stock it in, it wasn't the colour I wanted. My mum then went to Springvale and to our surprise there was more variety there! I went the following week and found a colour I liked and here it is!!

The fabric is pinkish/purple with some cherry blossom looking patterns on it, fits right into my theme. My dress will hopefully look like the dress above.

Only thing left to organise is the flowers!

December purchases

Went to Chaddy the other night and picked up this dress from pilgrim. They had a further 30% off already reduce stock, worked out costing around $98 - not exactly a bargain but needed a dress for a wedding coming up.

Also stopped by Moche on Saturday and picked up this funky ring - looks like a safety pin wrapped around your finger.

October bargains - part 2

Heyyy!! Decided to write up about another bargain buy! At lunch time, I stopped by Forever New (an aussie clothing brand) and they had a whopping further 40% sale items! Scored myself this pair of shorts! They are awesomely cute =) For $17 you can't go wrong!

Looking at their website now, saw a few items I'm quite liking. How cute are these dresses and skirt? I was never really into Forever New but recently their new range are pretty dam cool. I love pastel colours and nothing too out there. Simple is my style. I like dresses that has a belt around the waist, coz I have big hips so anything that shows my waist makes me less self conscious.

I picked up this necklace from Lovisa. Looks better in person than in this pic. This is my first item purchased from Lovisa, hoping to wear it to a wedding this Sunday.

Tomorrow after work, I'll be on a mission to find some false lashes. I want to get the individual ones, never tried them before, hoping it won't be that hard.
